Rongke Power hosted the Dalian programme — the opening segment of the LDES Council China Roadshow 2026 — bringing the global long-duration energy storage (LDES) community into China for in-depth exchange on deployment, commercialisation, and system integration.
The programme convened representatives from the Long Duration Energy Storage Council (LDES Council), global energy companies, technology providers, industrial users, and research institutions, alongside Chinese stakeholders including utilities, developers, and industry organisations. As the first stop of the Roadshow, the Dalian forum provided a platform to connect global perspectives with real deployment experience in one of the world’s fastest-scaling energy storage markets.
Across the forum sessions, discussions reflected a clear shift in the industry — from technology validation toward execution at scale. Participants explored key topics including commercial readiness, project bankability, market mechanisms, and the evolving role of long-duration energy storage in supporting power systems and energy transition.
A central theme emerging from the discussions was that scaling long-duration energy storage requires more than technological advancement alone. It depends on bankable project structures, repeatable deployment models, and proven operational performance — all of which are critical to enabling large-scale adoption.
Rongke Power contributed to the dialogue by sharing insights from over two decades of vanadium flow battery (VFB) development and its experience in delivering large-scale projects and advancing industrialisation across the value chain. These perspectives were complemented by discussions from industry stakeholders on financing requirements, system integration, and emerging demand drivers such as data centres and AI-related energy consumption.
A key highlight of the Dalian programme was the site visit to Rongke Power’s operational projects and manufacturing facilities. Delegates visited a 100MW-class vanadium flow battery energy storage system, the company’s digital VFB manufacturing facility (GIGAFACTORY), and its vanadium electrolyte production facility.
Together, these provided a direct view of how long-duration energy storage is being delivered at scale — from materials and manufacturing to system integration and real-world operation. The visit offered participants a comprehensive understanding of the industrial capabilities required to support large-scale deployment.
The programme concluded with policy insights from GEIDCO, outlining recent developments in China’s energy storage landscape and highlighting regulatory and market mechanisms that support continued growth in the sector.
As a global leader in vanadium flow battery technology, Rongke Power continues to focus on enabling long-duration energy storage through real-world deployment and industrial-scale delivery. By supporting initiatives such as the LDES China Roadshow, the company aims to contribute to deeper collaboration across the global energy ecosystem and accelerate the development of scalable, reliable, and sustainable energy storage solutions.
