Renewable Energy Integration
The CTG Jimusaer ESS is the world’s first gigawatt-hour-scale vanadium flow battery (VFB) energy storage project and one of the largest operational VFB systems globally. Designed to support large-scale renewable energy integration, the project provides long-duration energy storage to address the intermittency of wind and solar generation by storing surplus renewable energy during periods of high output and discharging it during peak demand, thereby improving renewable energy utilization, reducing curtailment, and enhancing overall grid reliability.
